Do you want to make a difference in the campus community? Do you want to learn advanced life-saving skills at no charge? Do you want to meet new people who share similar interests in volunteering, first aid, and medicine? Then you've come to the right place!

How to become a CERT Member:

1. It is highly preferred that new members have a standard first aid course completed prior to being placed on shift, such as a St. John Ambulance CPR-C certificate or related Red Cross equivalents. It may be an advantage to have when considering for hire.

2. Visit us during the Campus extravaganza, pay attention for announcements around campus or on our website to learn about upcoming information sessions. You must attend at least one of these, and fill out an application to be considered.

3. You must complete an interview. The interview might test your basic first aid skills in either a verbal or practical emergency scenario.

4. Once accepted to the team you must pass the Advanced Medical First Responder (AMFR) course taught by trained SJA instructors as well as CERT AMFR instructors. Lastly, to be eligible for cover of the course fees, you must dedicate a minimum of one academic year to CERT.
